Ava is out of our Mikah breeding to Jodi Lundin's CH Timbersky's Rock And Roll "Stoney".  Mikah has always produced outstanding puppies and this time was no exception.  There were so many lovely, balanced females in this litter it was extremely difficult to make our decision on which to keep.  But Ava, with her beautiful, exotic eyes and elegant body carriage, simply could not be denied.
Ava is the total package: a beautiful front, incredible rear, gorgeous head with lovely forward pitched ears, small dark eyes, lovely black pigmented eyes and lips, and a HUGE coat.  Her movement is absolutely "stunning," to quote a recent judge.  She earned both her majors before her first birthday, and at just 20 months of age needs only 2 points to earn her AKC championship.  Ava went Best in Sweeps at the Rocky Mountain Akita Club Regional Specialty show in August, earning high praise from breeder/judge Mike Bennett..
Ava has her mother Mikah's wonderful sweet temperament, very social and tolerant of other dogs, even the "terrorist" Cairn Terrier, pictured below.  Ava absolutely loves being a show dog.  The only things she may like better than showing are food and sleeping in bed with us!!

Bramblewood's Up Pops The Devil  "Bardie"

We had been searching a long time for a second breed to show and finally decided, for many reasons, on a Cairn Terrier.  Cairns are cat-like, strong-willed, intelligent and independent thinkers, much like Akitas but with a lot more energy.
We were recently fortunate enough to hook up with respected breeder/judge Chris Carter, who just happened to have what we were looking for.... a gorgeous red brindle male puppy named Jagger.  Not only does he have lovely Cairn type, a beautiful head and solid body, but WOW! can he move!!  He never puts a foot wrong!
Terriers are a whole new dog show world for us. With encouragement from Chris and much grooming guidance from Cairncroft Kennel's Sandra Murray, we are off to a spectacular start.  On August 14th, Jagger competed in his first point show, the Cairn Terrier Club of Denver Regional Specialty.  Jagger won Best in Sweeps under breeder/judge Mary Fedders, then went on to Winners Dog for his first points ~ a major!!  What an incredible beginning for a puppy only 6 months and 2 weeks old!!
Since then Jagger has added points in Cheyenne WY and a Best of Breed win in Farmington UT.  He is ALL terrier and a very special fun dog!!
