Hunter is truly a SOLID dog. The numerous ROM's on both sides of his pedigree reflect not only the quality, but the consistency in his breeding lines, and his temperament is totally sound.
During his brief show career Hunter earned multiple BOB, group placements and the first Award of Merit at the 2004 Rocky Mountain Akita Club specialty. Unfortunately Hunter isn't fond of the show ring, so his career as a special never really got off the ground.
Hunter has sired several litters of outstanding quality puppies, many of which have either achieved their AKC championships or are major pointed. We are very pleased with his accompishments as a sire; he has been passing his wonderful temperament, his massive head and bone, and his overall balance to his offspring.
Hunter is OFA Good, elbows normal, AVCO clear 2006 and thyroid normal.

"Mikah"
Mikah represents the best from both her sire and her dam. She is incredibly easy to live with, gets along with ALL the other dogs, and loves all humans large and small. She is the most easy going dog we have ever had, and one of the sweetest too, with kisses for everyone. And she passes that great temperament on to her puppies.
The area where Mikah has been REALLY exceptional is as a brood bitch. It doesn't seem to matter if she's linebred or outcrossed, she has produced excellence and consistency in every litter. Her first litter in November 2005 produced three AKC champions who are multi-BOB and GROUP winners, including the #1 Akita in Finland in 2007 and the #8 Akita in the US in 2008. Mikah's second breeding in 2006 resulted in two more champions amd earmed Mikah a much deserved Register Of Merit (ROM). Her last litter in March 2008 produced another champion in Ava, pictured below. Mikah is OFA Good, AVCO clear and MSU thyroid normal.

Theo finished his championship at 11 months of age in only 5 weeends. This was just an early illustration of his enormous potential. He went on to win a Group 2 his first weekend out as a special, then in a few short months of further competition, he achieved numerous BOB's, several other group placements and a prestigous GROUP ONE in a Working Group comprised of some of the country's top winning dogs. All of this was accomplished before he turned 2 years old.
Now Theo's home to do some growing up, with occasional shows to keep in practice. This photo was taken in February 2008 where Theo took a Group 3 at the huge CKC-Plum Creek shows. He earned an AOM at the Rocky Mtn Akita Club specialty, along with placing first in Stud Dog competition. Theo competed in the Top 20 at the Akita National Specialty and has earned an invitation to the 2008 Eukanuba Invitational.
In addition to being an outstanding show competitor, Theo has also proved himself as a worthy stud dog. He sired a litter of 8 very nice puppies in October 2007. Two of those puppies have already earned their championships. Theo is also producing exceptionally mild and stable temperaments, much like his own and both his sire and dam.. He is a joy to live with.
Theo is OFA Excellent, OFA elbows normal, AVCO clear and MSU thyroid normal.
Mandy has grown into a beautiful, more mature version of her puppy self. She has a beautiful typey head, small dark eyes, gorgeous coat, balanced body, sound structure and stunning movement.
We are so proud of Mandy........ her first time in the ring at just 6 months and 12 days old, she went WB/BOW for her first points out of the Bred-By-Exhibitor class. The next week, she won her 6-9 month Puppy class at the 2008 Akita National Specialty. Then in Rapid City SD, she went WB for her first major at just 7 months of age, once again out of Bred-By class. Mandy added two more wins at the huge Rocky Mtn cluster in February and picked up a 5 point major in Garden City, KS the first weekend in March. At her next show in March, having barely turned 12 months old, she finished her championship in style with another 4 point major from Bred-By class.
Mandy has managed to capture the fancy of those who've seen her both inside and outside the show ring. Judges are awed by her typiness, balance and movement, and exhibitors/spectators just love her too. You rock Mandy!!
Mandy is OFA hips Good, OFA elbows Normal, CERF clear 2012 and MSU thyroid normal. Her most recent accomplishment is Brood Bitch winner at the 2011 Akita Club of America National Specialty, where the type and consistency of her produce were awarded by breeder/judge Mrs. Terrie Breen with this huge honor.

Ava is out of our Mikah breeding to Jodi Lundin's CH Timbersky's Rock And Roll "Stoney". Mikah has always produced outstanding puppies and this time was no exception. There were so many lovely, balanced females in this litter it was extremely difficult to make our decision on which to keep. But Ava, with her beautiful, exotic eyes and elegant body carriage, simply could not be denied.
Ava is the total package: a beautiful front, incredible rear, gorgeous head with lovely forward pitched ears, small dark eyes, lovely black pigment, tight cat feet and tremendous coat. She also has stunning movement. Ava finished her championship out of Bred-By class at the competitive Albuquerque shows.
Ava has her mother Mikah's wonderful sweet temperament, very social and tolerant of other dogs, even our "terrorist" Cairn Terrier. She loves being a show dog. The only things she may like better than showing are food and sleeping in bed with us!!
Ava is OFA Hips and Elbows, CERF clear. 2012.

"Zuma"
Meet Zuma. She finished her championship in just 4 weekends with 4 majors. She is the whole package.
Miss Zuma started life as a preemie........... I know vets say that can't happen, but how else do you explain a puppy that opened her eyes so much later, got her teeth later, developed more slowly than her littermates? At any rate, she was a little squid in a pool of much larger littermates for a long time. She developed a lot of spunkiness as a result. We decided to hold onto her becasue we really liked what we were seeing of her structure. She's got a beautiful, typey head with lovely ear set, nice angles, a gorgeous rear and breathtaking movement.
Fast forward to 2011 and little Zuma is not so little anymore. She's growing up gorgeous! She is shown here at 14 months winning her first major, taking Winners and Best of Opposite Sex out of Bred By class under breeder/judge Wendy Sorrell. She followed that up with 3 more majors on her next weekend out to earn her championship.
The following week we moved her up for her first shows as a "special" at the Albuquerque specialty and all breed shows. Zuma took Best of Opposite sex at both specialties and also earned Select points at one of the all-breed shows, giving her all 3 majors toward her Grand Championship. This girl is on a fast track to success. We are just delighted with how she's turned out!
Zuma is CERF normal 2012; OFA hips Excellent and elbows Normal.

At Cheyenne he picked up another point, then to Evergreen Kennel Club shows where he picked up two 4-pt majors. And then he went to Utah where he went Best Of Breed over specials (at 9 months and 1 day old) for another 4 points to finish his championship.
But he wasn't done yet.....the day after earning his championship, he took Select Dog and the next day he went BOB again!!! This young dog has surpassed our expectations. No telling how far this boy will go!
